उन्हें दिल्ली में गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया और बहुत यातना दी गई, लेकिन उन्होंने अपना धर्म छोड़ने से मना कर दिया। आखिर में, श्री गुरु तेग बहादुर जी को दिल्ली के चांदनी चौक में सिर काटकर शहीदी दे दी गई, क्योंकि उन्होंने अपनी सोच और धर्म की आज़ादी की रक्षा की थी।
उनके सबसे बड़े बलिदान की वजह से उन्हें “हिंद की चादर” – भारत की ढाल – की उपाधि मिली और वे हिम्मत, सहनशीलता और मानवाधिकारों की रक्षा का एक ताकतवर प्रतीक बने हुए हैं।
गुरु दी संगत वेलफेयर सोसाइटी राजनांदगांव द्वारा 8 नवंबर 2025 को सुबह 10 बजे दिग्विजय स्टेडियम राजनांदगांव में सलोक महल्ला 9 का सामूहिक जाप आयोजित किया जा रहा है जिसमे सर्वसमाज की भागीदारी रहेगी।

Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the ninth Guru of the Sikhs, sacrificed his life in 1675 to uphold the right to religious freedom. During the reign of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb, Hindus were being forced to convert to Islam. A group of Kashmiri Pandits sought Guru Tegh Bahadur’s help. The Guru took a firm stand, declaring that if he could be converted, all others would follow—but if he remained steadfast, the forced conversions must stop.
He was arrested in Delhi and subjected to severe torture but refused to renounce his faith. Finally, Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji was executed (beheaded) in Chandni Chowk, Delhi, for defending the freedom of conscience and religion.
His supreme sacrifice earned him the title “Hind Di Chadar” — the Shield of India — and remains a powerful symbol of courage, tolerance, and the defense of human rights.
